Emily Johnson

MSN, RN, PMHNP-BC, PRCFMP

As an ANCC Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I take an integrative, individualized approach to mental health care. I believe in treating the whole person—not just the diagnosis—and work collaboratively with each patient to develop a care plan that reflects their unique needs, goals, and experiences.

Building strong therapeutic relationships is at the heart of my practice. I prioritize creating a safe, supportive environment where patients feel heard, respected, and genuinely understood. I view healing as a partnership and believe in empowering patients through shared decision-making, open communication, and personalized care.

My approach blends psychotherapy with medication management to provide well-rounded support. While medications can be an important part of treatment, I integrate talk therapy to address root causes, emotional patterns, and lifestyle factors that impact mental health. This balanced model allows for a more comprehensive and sustainable path to wellness.

One of my greatest passions is supporting mental health through nutrition. I believe that food plays a critical role in mood, cognition, and overall well-being. I work with patients to create realistic, individualized nutrition plans that promote better mental and physical health. Whether it’s optimizing nutrient intake, supporting gut health, or fostering mindful eating, I view nutrition as a powerful extension of mental health care.

Education is also a cornerstone of my practice. I take time to ensure my patients understand their diagnoses, treatment options, and the reasoning behind care decisions. My goal is to help each person feel informed and empowered to take an active role in their healing journey.

I draw on evidence-based practices, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness strategies, and trauma-informed care, all tailored to each patient’s unique needs. My mission is to support people in finding resilience, balance, and lasting well-being—beyond symptom relief.
